Aston Carter Accounts Receivable Manager in Richmond, California

Description:

This individual will be joining a health and wellness consumer products company focused on expecting mothers and children. They will join the team as the Accounts Receivable/EDI Manager and will be responsible for managing the company's AR Processes, managing the AR team and the EDI processes.

Logistics:

  • Hybrid schedule in Richmond, CA

  • $48-57/hr.

  • 6 months Contract-to-Hire

AR Responsibilities:

  • Set objectives for the accounts receivable team that align with the accounting department’s goals

  • Monitor processing of invoices

  • Ensure timely collection of payments

  • Conduct credit checks

  • Organize records of invoices, bills and deposits

  • Ensure high-quality invoicing and collection procedures that comply with the law

  • Support Sales Order Processors & Accounting Clerk daily and train new team members

  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions

  • Maintain an adequate system of account receivable records

  • Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential

  • Coordination & Management of Claims/Damages/Disputes

  • Sales Accruals entry including tracking & reporting to Sales Department

  • Train Accounting clerk in AR processes

  • Ensure Finance Manual up to date for AR processes

  • AR communications regarding late payment & disputes

  • Accounts Receivable reporting & management

  • Cash Flow Reporting

  • Implementation of automation of AR processes and ongoing management of those processes

  • Sales reporting to Sales Department

EDI Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily electronic data interchange (EDI) operations of an organization.

  • Develops and executes strategies for Internet-based data interchange capabilities.

  • Implements new EDI methods and systems and enhances and upgrades the existing systems.

  • Finds EDI solutions for business operations. and coordinates and implements new EDI systems.

  • Establishes and maintains communications and trading partner routings.

  • Audits the quality of data provided

  • Resolves trading partner's technical problems involving EDI.

  • Supports implementation and mapping needs for customers on an ongoing basis

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of AR/EDI Management

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • Consumer products experience preferred

  • Experience maintaining an organization's accounting systems and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles

  • Experience implementing EDI systems

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Nav and/or other ERP System

  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting, EDI management, accounts receivable, cash flow and forecasting

  • A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) with the ability to build Excel worksheets and perform financial analysis

  • Demonstrated skills in accounting, GAAP, research, analyzing information, and corporate finance

  • Strong project management skills are a plus
