Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Position Details: Summary of Duties: WSU Tri-Cities Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is funded with federal funds by the Department of Education whose purpose is to increase the number of low-income and underrepresented students who graduate from high school and successfully complete post-secondary education. The Student Achievement Specialist has responsibility for using professional judgement and skills to increase GEAR UP students' academic performance through direct tutoring and developing student's positive academic behaviors and non-cognitive skills; mentoring and advising students to increase college and career readiness; guiding students with college and career exploration, plan and supervise field trips to college campuses, work as a team with GEAR UP staff, classroom teachers, counselors, and administrators to analyze student data and use instructional tools and methodologies that are consistent with district interventions to achieve grant outcomes. The Student Achievement Specialist will monitor, collect, and document student data for assessment and reporting requirements. This position is housed out of WSU Tri-Cities with a work location in Chiawana High School - Pasco, WA. Additional Information: This is a full time (100% FTE) position. This position is overtime eligible. Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on September 29, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications: Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Two (2) years of experience providing instruction or direct outreach services to students and working with parents/adults in individual or group setting. • Knowledge of community, educational and social service resources in the district's community. • Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office software programs Excel, Outlook, Word. • Willingness and ability to travel overnight and work a flexible schedule, including frequent nights and weekends. • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements underhttp://p
