Edgewater Technical Associates LLC Hanford Chief of Staff (HCS) Consultant Specialist in Richland, Washington

Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a Hanford Chief of Staff (HCS) Consultant Specialist *opportunity in *Richland, WA to support DOE Hanford. Work Location: *Work shall be conducted at the Department of Energy government offices, The Hanford Site, and Richland, WA. *SCOPE OF WORK The Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site requires general support services for the Hanford Field Office (HFO), Manager, Office of the Manager in the following areas: Provide integrated consulting and operational business support for the HCS-directed activities and team needs.

  • Advise HCS and other members of senior management, provide reviews and recommendations for appropriate approaches, processes, and recommended tools.
  • Provide support and assistance in preparing/reviewing HCS related documents and other materials to support HCS and senior management efforts, as directed by the HCS.
  • Provide timely expertise utilizing acquired knowledge of the Hanford Site operations to coordinate high-level integration decisions across the Hanford Field Office. 
  • Provide consultation with other organizations to assist in identification and resolution of issues and recommend corrective action to prevent delays, inefficiencies and facilitate completion of work.
  • Brief senior management on issues, options for resolution, recovery plans, and facilitate decision-making.
  • Provide expert technical support to the HCS for strategic management of operations to include programmatic advice and organizational strategies to ensure oversight is appropriately planned and executed to support operations and activities.
  • Conduct critical assessments and implement actions to bring about systemic improvements within the integrated DOE oversight strategy.
  • Participate in meetings with senior management as requested by HCS and Deputy Manager
  • Conduct high level comprehensive analysis and assessments of the multitude of DOE and integrated contractor programs to evaluate program planning and implementation.
  • Perform specific detailed assessments of key program areas by extrapolating information from existing data, apply seasoned professional judgement, and challenge assumptions of planned approaches. 
  • Interface regularly with a diverse range of people from the HFO, PNSO, PNNL, and other DOE Contractors. 
  • Prepare and present monthly assessments and status reports in writing to HCS.  
  • Prepare and provide in writing expert opinion on issues, findings, and other areas of concern or review. 
  • Draft presentations for internal meetings with senior management.
  • Provide an annual written assessment of the Organization Management System and the covered procedures to identify necessary updates, revisions and streamlining.
  • Provide SME support, across the HFO organizations, as identified by the HCS, to ensure continued efficient progress in executing the mission and to facilitate coordination across organizations, including support organizations like safety and contracting.
  • Utilize excellent writing and communication skills in all interactions.

Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The Contractor shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner. The Contractor employee shall submit a weekly report to the technical monitor addressing work accomplished, and deliverable progress. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education -- BS/BA degree in a business or engineering field of study. Six years of experience may be substituted for BS/BA degree.
