Basic Function:

Safely set dies for injection molding machines, start up of machines and adjustments of machine parameters. As well as injection mold tear down, cleaning, and reassembly to produce quality parts

Responsibilities:

  • Keep safety as a primary focus by working safely, following safety policies and work instructions, asking for help, promptly reporting safety concerns, and utilizing the Stop & Seek program, as required.

  • Comprehend machine and Injection mold knowledge to operate equipment within the department.

  • Comprehend terminology and basic processing knowledge to adjust equipment to produce quality parts.

  • Continuously evaluate tooling for defects.

  • Perform 5S and housekeeping duties including cleaning machines, fixtures, tooling, gauging, and peripheral equipment, as required to maintain parts and equipment within specified limits.

  • Perform Tasks associated with TPM activities.

  • Understand and use part prints, process sheets, and QAS control plans.

  • Visually inspect and gage parts per QAS and SWI standards and using appropriate gages when needed or assigned.

  • Use Kronos to process Kan Ban, IPT cards, and process scrap tickets.

    · Promote and practice 5S + Safety approach by keeping work area neat, clean, and organized, and following safety and housekeeping rules.

  • Adjusting injection molding machines parameters to produce quality parts and acceptable output following standard work instructions (SWI).

  • Perform routine and repetitive work while maintaining a high degree of quality and quantity.

  • Identify and store materials in proper locations.

  • Cleaning and/or loading drying equipment or cleaning and/or loading storage equipment.

    · Mixing color concentrate with virgin material per instructions.

    · Positively support change initiatives by actively contributing to and participating in lean principles and Kaizen events.

    · Positively and actively contribute to High Performance Teams (HPTs) by participating in team improvement boards (TIB) reviews, problem solving and task completion.

  • Be a respectful team player and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all team members and supervision

  • Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate.

    Requirements:

    · High School diploma or equivalent minimum 3-5 Years experience in molding environment, preferably 1-2 years setting dies

    · Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, be a participative team player with minimal supervision and guidance, and the ability to adapt to changing roles and changing priorities

    · Exceeding communication and interpersonal skills.

    · Understanding industrial blueprints and basic computer skills.

    · Willing to obtain overhead crane training after accepting position.

    · Willing to complete additional advanced training on job related topics.

    Physical Requirements:

    · Frequently will stand, walk, grasp, and handle.

    · Regularly will pull, push, and bend.

    · Occasionally will kneel and reach.

    · May lift up to 40 pounds.

    Working Conditions:

    · A moderately loud environment with exposure to or use of chemicals, oils, fumes, and moving equipment.
