Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

We are looking for dedicated General Production Workers to operate unique equipment specific to our facility. Candidates will receive in-depth training on the machinery and will be cross-trained for all lines. The main responsibilities include measuring large pieces of stainless bar, cutting them to specific lengths, or grinding the outside diameter to the required width.

Responsibilities

  • Operate unique equipment specific to our facility

  • Measure large pieces of stainless bar and cut them to specific lengths

  • Grind the outside diameter of the bar to specific widths

  • Participate in a slower-paced first week with 2 hours of safety and orientation

  • Observe operators, band steel, tag lines, operate overhead crane, and input bars in ERP system during the initial 2-3 weeks

  • Cross-train for all lines

Essential Skills

  • Data entry

  • Quality check

  • Machine operation

  • Assembly

  • Forklift operation

  • Overhead crane operation

  • Micrometer and caliper usage

  • Metal fabrication and cutting

  • Blueprint reading

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Hydraulics

  • Measurement tools proficiency (Calipers, Micrometers, Tape Measure)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus but not required

  • Reliability

Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled, dirty, and loud, typical of a metal manufacturing setting. The company provides personal protective equipment for temporary workers, including earplugs, safety vests, cut-resistant gloves, and hard hats. The facility is smaller, with only about 11 employees per shift, fostering a close-knit team atmosphere. There is no heavy lifting required as machinery primarily moves the bars. The shift runs from 3:30 PM to 3:30 AM, Monday through Thursday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richburg, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
