Description
Provide support relating to the receipt, issue, accuracy and location of all supplies in the locations
Supply Chain is responsible for at Northern Dutchess Hospital and Thompson House.
Request products as determined, weekly cycle counts; follow up on order status with Purchasing to
ensure stock availability. Will also handle ordering and replenishing products on the patient care units
along with the other departments we supply with products. Department’s main focus is the
distribution of supplies and equipment to all areas of the facilities to support patient care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned that relate to the daily operation of the department
- Distribution/Receiving
1.1
Staff will have to project usage of products and order par cart levels daily in all service areas.
1.2
Returns all overstock/picking errors to the Logistic Center with the proper document filled out.

Maintain effective communication with customers, co-workers, and other team members

Provides accurate documentation of all department transactions.

Completes all scheduled and unscheduled assignments in a timely manner
Delivers items/requisitions to appropriate area after receipt
Answers phone/vocera in a friendly and courteous manner.
Takes down all information for a General Stock Request and delivers supplies to appropriate personnel/unit
Report any item shortage to appropriate personal
Receive all items using the proper equipment and receiving procedures.
Deliver all possible Fed Ex, UPS, Air Borne and any other requested items by the end of the business day as well as delivers all tissue related product in a timely manner as described in the product instructions.
Have all parties sign off on all deliveries and return paper work or electronic signature to Materials Handling Department for filing
Train all new Staff members as relates to the daily operation of this department. (stocking, receiving, Shipping, and the Paring of the supply carts)
Staff must also be flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any disaster or
Emergency situation.
Maintain clean shelving/inventory locations as well as a clean warehouse and workspace.
Manage and clear Invoice discrepancies using PMM and response emails from Purchasing.
- Inventory and Storage
2.1
Maintain a clean and orderly environment for the Materials Handling Departments areas of responsibly.

Complies with all JACHO regulations as outline for Inventory storage and 18” ceiling clearance from sprinkler heads and no supplies left on floors.

Delivers product to appropriate stocking location and rotates inventory to ensure the oldest product is used first.

Staff member will go about their daily tasks with minimal supervision

Will make adjustments to inventory of low or over stocked items
Perform physical inventory counts during semi-annual inventory
Perform cycle counting as required in the warehouse
- Education
3.1
Responsibility to comply and attend all required education classes as outlined by NDH policy, New York State Department of Health or JACHO
3.2
Know how to use the PMM Materials Management system to locate supply items or there availability for issue
3.3
Knowledge on how the Smart Track system works for receiving and delivery of Fed Ex, UPS and Airborne packages.

Using OptiFreight to send packages back to the vendor after receiving an RMA from Purchasing.
Use Tissue tracking program to track all human tissue coming in to the hospital.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Requires 2 years’ experience in healthcare or 2 years’ experience in warehousing,
supply chain management, or purchasing. Prior computer experience.
