Individual contributor responsible for assisting with the creation of commercially viable Artwork/ Designs across collections. Coordinate and deliver designs that tie back to the overall concept and business strategy, encompassing style, color, illustration/print for new/existing product lines. Applies knowledge of fashion/decor trends and consumer needs to product designs. Work may involve reworking designs, customizing typography, color adjustments, resizing design elements and approving color components across different forms. The Assistant Designer will be involved in the project from start to finish and will work closely as part of the creative team to ensure that the artwork meets the needs of the brief intent! Applies a strong understanding of the creative process for producing finalized artwork and design extensions. Demonstrates a passion for the brand, inspires individuals and relies on experience to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for completion of spec and passing completed spec to Production teams

• Supports design projects with guided direction, assists in developing pre-production samples

• Supports back-End Process with legal reviews, Production Turn Overs, Submission reviews, Mechanical reviews, press approvals, maintain server organization

• work closely with and support the team to follow designs and artwork from their conception to final sign-off

• Assist in conceptualizing multiple design options within the cost parameters

• Assists to drive projects to prototype level for category

• Assists in connecting with Merchant and Product Development teams to ensure the alignment of the designs

• Assist in creating products, which represent the BBW brand strategy from a seasonal perspective

• Correct and format documents before they're sent to partners

• Ensure artwork is consistent, accurate and follows any brand guidelines

• Set up, handle and archive accurate artwork files

• Adapt existing artwork to alternative layouts and/or formats

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in product development or design

• Proficient in the following Adobe Creative Cloud Programs: Illustrator & Photoshop along with drawing and computer illustration skills. Adobe Creative Cloud and programs such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator

• Strong sense of design and color plus expertise in hard goods and soft goods

• High level execution, organization and design skills with a methodical approach to work and meticulous attention to detail in order to meet results

• Strong fashion sense with ability to translate into product assortment; ability to communicate and articulate trends

• Communication skills to engage with designers, printers, and to provide progress updates at every stage of the process

• Self-motivation to work on multiple projects at once!

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to know when to ask for help

• Ability to take feedback and direction from other professionals and teammates, such as designers

• Experience with archiving images and artwork

• Understanding of customer-specific product issues

• Understanding of fabrication and material costs a plus

Education

• Bachelors Or Equivalent Education Or Experience Preferred
