Job Description

As a ServiceNow developer, your role encompasses a wide array of technical and collaborative tasks that support the Program Executive Office (PEO) in driving transformative change in IT resource planning and execution. You will implement custom applications using Angular widgets and perform various hands-on activities, such as configuration, integration, and custom programming, essential for the ServiceNow implementation process. Your work, performed within an agile team, focuses on deploying core ServiceNow modules like Incident, Problem, Knowledge, and Change. You also handle customizations, including UI Policies, UI Actions, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Workflow Administration, and Data Import.

You are engaged in all stages of the software development life cycle, from analysis and design to coding, testing, training, and providing operational support, while adhering to DoD and DCSA OCIO policies, procedures, and data standards. As part of an Agile team using a tailored SAFe Agile DevSecOps Scrum process, you design, develop, document, test, and debug ServiceNow software. This includes transforming and integrating software applications with innovative solutions to solve identified problems, preparing operating instructions, and ensuring software standards are met.

In addition to investigating and applying analytics best practices to deliver dashboards within ServiceNow for informed decision-making, you perform architecture design, prototyping, proofs of concept, development of standards and test plans, code and module design, and data solution debugging. You perform testing for the transition from development to production and ensure backup and recovery capabilities, disaster recovery/business continuity plans, and other system documentation are in place. You remain current with and execute processes to comply with government data and security standards, as well as research, suggest, and implement emerging technologies, services, and protocols.

Collaboration with stakeholders, including business analysts, project managers, training managers, and end-users is crucial for gathering and understanding requirements, which you then translate into technical specifications and actionable development tasks. You monitor development stories, coordinate with training managers, and ensure timely updates to knowledgebase articles and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Your role also involves providing hands-on support for resolving ServiceNow-related help desk incident tickets, troubleshooting system issues, and implementing solutions. Furthermore, you create and maintain detailed technical documentation, generate and present reports on system performance and usage metrics, and serve as a dedicated ServiceNow developer on a cross-functional development team, continually enhancing system capabilities and optimizing IT service management processes.
