At Citeline, a Norstella company, we're seeking a visionary Editor in Chief to build and lead our new editorial operations in India. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of premium business intelligence in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical technology sectors.
The Opportunity
As Editor in Chief, you'll establish and lead a new editorial hub that will become integral to our global news operation. You'll build and mentor a team of talented journalists while driving innovation in how we deliver business-critical intelligence to our professional subscribers.
This role combines editorial leadership with strategic vision, offering the chance to:
Build and shape a new editorial team from the ground up
Drive technological innovation in content creation and delivery
Lead the development of data-driven journalism initiatives
Collaborate with global editorial teams across multiple time zones
Shape the coverage of one of the world's most innovative and regulated industries
What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the editorial vision for our global operations with an initial focus on India operations.
Build and lead a team of India-based editors, reporters, and data journalists who will cover the global pharma and medtech markets.
Drive innovation in content creation, including AI integration and data visualization
Ensure the highest standards of editorial quality and accuracy
Collaborate with global editorial leaders to align content strategy
Operational Excellence:
Establish robust newsroom processes focused on efficiency and accuracy
Oversee the creation of compelling, subscription-worthy content
Lead the integration of new technologies and tools
Manage editorial planning and resource allocation
Drive continuous improvement in content quality and delivery
Innovation and Growth:
Identify opportunities for new content streams and formats
Lead the adoption of AI and other technologies to enhance content creation
Develop data-driven approaches to content strategy
Foster a culture of innovation and excellence
What You'll Bring
Leadership Experience:
Proven track record in senior editorial leadership, preferably in B2B publishing
Experience building and managing high-performing editorial teamscovering complex global industries
Strong understanding of digital content strategy and innovation
Ability to coordinate coverage across multiple time zones
Operational and Technical Acumen:
Forward-thinking approach to content technology and AI
Experience with data-driven content creation
Understanding of digital content platforms and analytics
Setting and achieving editorial KPIs which lead to increased new business and customer retention
Industry Knowledge:
Strong experience in business journalism or industry analysisdelivering content to sophisticated global audiences
Understanding of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors
Strong track record of building networks across different regions
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
10+ years of editorial experience with significant leadership responsibility
Track record of successful team building and development
Experience in premium B2B content creation
Strong understanding of business news and intelligence subscription models
Experience working across global teams and time zones
Bachelor's degree in journalism, sciences, or business (advanced degree a plus)
