Summary

The Senior Accountant develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. In this individual contributor role, the Senior Accountant is responsible for preparation of monthly/quarterly consolidated financial statements and reports in addition to the below duties.

Position Responsibilities

  • Performs ad hoc analysis for explanatory text required for reports and statements

  • Coordinates preparation of monthly financial package and reviews for accuracy

  • Actively participates in monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close process. Supports internal and external auditors' requests and inquiries

  • Prepares various journal entries as needed and prepare various general ledger account reconciliations

  • Prepares and pay various state sales tax filings

  • Works cross-functionally with other departments to resolve discrepancies in account balances

  • May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition process

  • Performs necessary functions to ensure compliance with SOX and Internal Controls over relevant processes

  • Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports

  • May supervise the activities of others (Team Lead)

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance is required or equivalent combination of experience and education

  • 12 - 15 years of related accounting/finance work experience

  • Experienced preparing consolidated financial statements, including statement of cash flows

  • Experienced with equity-based compensation and reporting

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, including advanced Excel skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, mathematical, analytical, time management, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  • Master's degree or Certified Public Account (CPA) with public accounting experience is preferred

  • Experience utilizing Oracle ERP System is highly preferred

  • Experience in Government accounting and DCAA/DCMA audit experience is preferred

  • Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative

  • Demonstrates competency in working on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or date requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments

  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties

  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives

  • Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products

  • Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company and effective ways

  • Consistently demonstrates teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)

  • Required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)

The salary range for this role is:

$120,686 - $170,940
