Microsoft Corporation Senior Technical Program Manager, AI Delivery Project Intergration in Redmond, Washington

The CO+I AI Delivery Program Controls team is focused on delivering various platform services to our global AI customers. This role will require deep partnership throughout all of Microsoft as these programs will be on the leading edge of innovation and will include driving pilots and other experiments that shape our ongoing commitment to deliver AI platform services rapidly at cloud scale. We are part of Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I), the team behind one of the world’s largest cloud infrastructures, responsible for powering all Microsoft online products and services as well as powering Microsoft’s “Cloud First” mission. CO+I is focused on growth, efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. In this role you will be directly accountable for specific AI delivery schedules from signal, through construction, all the way to service live and leverage resources throughout the company to deliver to the expectations of the customer.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager, AI Delivery Project Intergration to manage critical AI Infrastructure deployment projects, deliver GPU-specific data center retrofit services, and drive related continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate delivers through ambiguity, fosters collaboration, and builds trusted partnerships, and balances delivery and scaling.

  • This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

  • Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must ​relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

  • This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Responsibilities

  • Creates relationships to drive orchestration and integration efforts for the development and implementation process of multiple schedules for large and complex cross functional projects with internal teams and external partners. Collaborates and coordinates across organizations to ensure alignment on these schedules and their execution, including tradeoffs, adjustments, and improvements as feasible.

  • Collaborate with others to track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project schedules (e.g., milestones, timelines, changes) for multiple projects. Works with others to establish and monitor processes and helps hold stakeholders accountable for following the established schedule and processes. Helps track and manage dependencies to enable cohesive, connected user scenarios, and to identify potential risk areas and escalate appropriately. Adjusts or course corrections when projects are not aligned to schedules or goals.

  • Connects the team building data centers to MSFT customers. Representing the voice of the customer in all the meetings. Relentlessly drive project cycle time reduction along with addressing gaps in the projects. The single point of contact for all schedules and projects in the portfolio.

  • High variability inside of 90 days from capacity ready results in a high degree of variability for DC capacity coming online for our customers. Builds high confidence schedules by reviewing them with the project team members and true-up dates to maintain predictability as much as possible.

  • Focus on standardization across all projects, this will have better controls to ensure predictable outcomes, more transparency of issues and mitigations, improved perception of ownership resulting in improved KPIs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Experience of large-scale global program management in either infrastructure technology deployments or capacity planning for cloud services.

  • Proficient in MS Project, Microsoft office suite. Some SQL & PowerBI experience.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
