MICROSOFT CORP Security Operations Engineer in Redmond, Washington
Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software. Plan, architect, deploy and/or support complex client/server or base software systems. Execute security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate?company email, data, e-commerce, and web-based systems. Research attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security?and determine next steps, including potential escalations.? May develop and implement automation of security process and procedure, and translate security policy into effective controls. Respond to security incidents, conduct threat intelligence and analysis, and use data analytics to drive security decisions. Conduct and support operations or improve security posture. Maintain hardware, software, and network firewalls and encryption protocols.?Administer security policies to control access to systems. Telecommuting permitted 50% or more, but less than 100% per week within same geographic location as assigned Microsoft office location.
Requirements:
-Education: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Mathematical Economics, Information Systems, Physics, or a related field.
-Experience: 24 months of experience in data analysis and/or data management.
-Specific Skills: Experience must include 12 months of experience in each of the following: Azure Services; Azure; Reporting; and Visual Studio. Experience must include 6 months of experience in: Linux. This position also requires Education or Experience in: Algorithms; and Data Structures.
-Telecommuting permitted 50% or more, but less than 100% per week within same geographic location as assigned Microsoft office location.

Pay Range and Benefits Information: The offered base pay range for this specific position (EG1850496b), in Redmond, WA, is $128,650 to $158,650 per year.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.?
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
