We are looking for a passionate and motivated P rincipal Software Engineering Manager who can inspire the team and drive design and development of Business applications & Industry cloud vertical applications and solutions leveraging the power of Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Office 365, and Azure. As part of the Dynamics 365 engineering organization, our team delivers business applications for Connected Customer Care – for contact centers supporting customers on real-time chats with AI and live agents. As a Principal Software Engineering Manager, you will work with senior business and technology leaders as well as internal business users and partners to conceive, design and implement Dynamics 365 applications and pick the best technical architecture to solve their business needs. Our product builds on cloud-scale backend services, integrates AI services, and delivers end-to-end experiences through embedded web chat, social channels like WhatsApp, and extensibility through real time APIs. Responsibilities

• Mentor and guide the team and the broader organization.

• Understand and anticipate the needs of our diverse customer base as they navigate the changing business and technology landscape.

• A comprehensive understanding of the product vision and the ability to strategically plan and design features in phases to achieve the end goal progressively.

• Address uncertainty, foster clarity for your team, inspire action, and manage risks throughout the software development lifecycle.

• You will be responsible for efficiently designing, implementing, scheduling, and delivery of your team's services.

• Oversees team members within and across teams by producing extensible and maintainable code. Optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI). Identifies best practices and coding patterns and provides deep expertise on the coding and validation strategy. Defines or reuses quality metrics, best practices, and coding patterns to ensure testable code. Leads by example in code-writing practices. Supporting the service and understanding the software functionality.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• OR equivalent experience.

• 6+ years people management experience.

• Prior experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in object-oriented languages

• Knowledge of end-to-end Software development lifecycle

Software Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
