Azure Security Team is looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager. As an Engineering Manager in Azure Security organization, you will lead your team to build highly scalable, available, and secure cloud services that protect entire Azure infrastructure. You will be responsible for the Identity, access management, secrets protection, deployment integrity services. You will be accountable for delivery of features shipped by your team, building and retaining talent. You will provide vision for the services you own, develop strategy aligning with stake holders and develop execution plans to successfully deliver team's commitments.

Providing a secure cloud platform is vital to win customers and move their workloads to Azure. The charter of the Azure Security group is to ensure that Azure is the most secure and resilient cloud platform. Azure Platform Security team is responsible to build foundational security services that provide identity & access management, secret protection, deployment integrity for entire Azure infrastructure. This is a rare opportunity to build foundational security services at hyper scale.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches the team to deliver success through empowerment and accountability.

  • Creates proposals for strategy, architecture and design documents and gets buy-in for proposed solutions.

  • Guides team in creating clear and articulated plan for development, testing, deploying, monitoring and defines success for success.

  • Guides teams and leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform. Guides team within and across teams in producing extensible, and maintainable code.

  • Leads efforts to operationalize at scale by reducing incident volume, looking globally at incidences and providing broad resolutions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years people management experience

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
