Microsoft Corporation Principal Software Engineer, Power Pages in Redmond, Washington

Power Platform is changing the way developers and Makers are building their Products using low-code Studios assisted by Generative AI and Copilots. These concepts are key to Power Pages, as we build the next generation of software that empowers users to build data centric business websites utilizing AI from development to production.

As a Principal Software Engineer in the Power Pages Maker Studio team, you will need to help drive innovation and modernization on concepts like What You See is What You Get (WYSIWYG) editing and authoring, “GPT” style driven Maker experiences, cross Product integrations and UI extensibility. Your deliverables will be to design, lead and code these initiatives end to end by working closely with a Product team and UX Designers. This opportunity will help you build skills in AI across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as well as the Product, and you will have the chance to influence how AI can be re-used across the Power Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation by adopting a Generative AI first mindset.

  • Design, lead, and develop horizontal features that work for Power Pages and Power Platform scenarios.

  • Be a leader in best practices, tools, and processes for a data-driven, quality-focused weekly release.

  • Contribute to the engineering culture of the team by setting standards and processes.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to help develop product vision as well as strategies solving technical challenges & proposing solutions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • o OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in software development with experience in UX/UI engineering.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 10+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Pythono OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience working alongside and mentoring junior team members.

  • 6+ years of experience in software development/engineering.

  • Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and/or languages that transpirefrom technologies such as SASS, TypeScript, JSX.

  • Extensive knowledge of Web Browser concepts such as Mozilla APIs, Content Policies, DOM, HTTP, Cookies, AJAX, Responsive Web Design, SPAs, PWA.

  • 3+ months experience developing with GPT 3.5 or 4.

Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
