Job Description The Personal Property Inventory Specialist will be responsible for assessing content damages and providing valuations related to the property insurance field. This is a challenging and rewarding role for an ambitious individual and involves traveling to post-loss sites, collecting information, analyzing, pricing, and creating reports on a wide variety of personal property items. A typical work week would include a full-day site visit collecting information and photo-journaling the contents. Office work would be required for preparing the reports by analyzing and compiling the data using estimating software, databases, and proprietary software. Job Responsibilities * Visit post-loss sites to inspect and collect information used to create estimates and reports related to the replacement costs and depreciated cash value of contents on personal and commercial losses. * Perform the necessary work to provide replacement costs and depreciated cash value valuations of contents on personal and commercial losses. * Perform site inspections to qualify and quantify damaged contents. * Prepare the replacement cost and depreciated cost appraisals reports. * Coordinate communications between all stakeholders. * Establish costs, depreciation, and location pricing impacts. * Review all final appraisal packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal submission and recommendation. * Successfully participate and complete all internal and external training. * Perform additional assignments per manager's direction. * Travel as required to fulfill above noted duties. Qualifications Qualifications * Required Qualifications * Must possess 2+ years' experience. * Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for transportation for company business. * Must have proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn various electronic and manual estimating systems. * Strong analytical skills and effective communication skills are essential for this role. * Previous experience in a Customer Service or Sales role is considered an asset. Preferred Qualifications * Experience managing contents following various claims (fire, flood, etc.) and overseeing the cleaning process. * Related work experience in the insurance or restoration industry is considered an asset. * Certifications or training from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC), the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), or similar are a plus. Physical and Mental Job Qualifications * Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site * Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections. * Able to climb ladders to reach high areas or roofs. * Must be able to write reports of findings after inspections 50% of day-to-day duties. * May be exposed to UV radiation from the sun, radon, or other forms of air pollution. * Must be able to be on call or work weekends or nights. * Willingness To view the full job description,
