Microsoft Corporation Group Finance Manager - Partner Field Finance Lead in Redmond, Washington

Original Equipment Manufacter (OEMs) drive the pre-installation of Microsoft software (Windows/Office/Server) across commercial and consumer devices including PCs and Servers with a focus on hardware-based design wins, software attach, services attach and global coverage for the OEM ecosystem. The Device Provisioning Service (DPS) Finance Team manages $14B in OEM sales and plays a key role in supporting strategic/financial management, organizational commitments and processes. Being at the intersection of multiple business groups provides a unique opportunity to engage and deliver value across activities related to Finance, Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Investments, Pricing/Deals, Market and competitive dynamics.

Windows DPS Finance Team is looking for a Group Finance Manager - Partner Field Finance Lead with solid analytical and communication skills, business acumen and thought leadership to partner with the DPS Field Sales organization in driving our strategy, execution and impact for the broader organization. Apart from managing Local Windows, this role would also be the Office/Server/IoT Product Lead on OEM revenue. The role focuses on end to end Profit&Loss (P&L) management spanning across Revenue, Investments and Business partnership with sales teams, providing the opportunity to drive impact across multiple rhythms ranging from Planning, Target setting, Sales execution, performance tracking, business story telling and investing for growth to drive tactical and strategic execution of business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end to end P&L for regional business spanning across revenue, investments and upside opportunities

  • Drive Windows target setting and business planning for Field business through analysis, modeling and partnering with business stakeholders

  • Own Office and Server planning engaging with Product Groups and working with internal finance teams accountable for regional target setting and business planning

  • Analyze current revenue performance, understand business drivers and deliver accurate forecast of future trends. Provide regional business leader support with actionable insights to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.

  • Develop and leverage relationships with Regional sales teams that operate in a dynamic market/compete environment in solving for business issues to bolster sales, plan growth initiatives and manage business risk through corrective actions. Manage balance between revenue growth, customer centricity, sales enablement and cost effectiveness

  • Highlight trends and opportunities for Finance leadership to drive action from a product and Go to Market standpoint.

  • Apply understanding of Microsoft Finance and business (e.g., monetization strategy, market, key drivers, revenue channels and partner ecosystem/strategy) to evaluate results and drive partner strategy

  • Lead central initiatives to drive business outcomes and Tools/reporting improvements working with broader Finance team

  • Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft financial systems, policies, and processes to evaluate potential impacts of changes, drive improvements in efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Financial Analysis IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
