MICROSOFT CORP Data Scientist in Redmond, Washington
Job Description: Manipulate large volumes of data, create new and improved techniques and/or solutions for data collection, management, and usage. Research and develop an understanding of tools, technologies, and methods that can be utilized to improve state-of-the-art technologies. May leverage Machine Learning (ML) or statistical modeling techniques to develop solutions to problems in the field of computer hardware or software and drive innovation. Develop, evaluate, and deploy software, algorithms, systems, or other data to improve products, system performance, quality, data management, and accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote digital transformation, which may include Artificial Intelligence or Automation, and develop applications and underlying support systems that allow users to do specific tasks. Develop and review designs and business requirements to analyze and streamline data. Telecommuting permitted less than 50% per week within same geographic location as assigned Microsoft office location.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science; Information Technology; Computer/Software Engineering; Data Science; or a related degree.
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience in data analysis and modeling.
- Specific Skill Requirements: This position requires at least six (6) months experience in Azure Synapses: Building models with Spark and in a collaborative fashion; at least twenty-four (24) months experience in Azure Machine Learning (AML) service, and Building NLP models in a multilingual setting; at least thirty six (36) months experience in Net Promotor Score (NPS): Building a metric in alignment with industry standard to evaluate customer satisfaction at scale, Statistics: detecting anomalies across two sets of data, Natural Language Processing: surfacing topics without prior knowledge, and Natural Language Processing: building classifiers on customers' feedback. * *

Pay Range and Benefits Information: The salary range in Redmond, WA for this position (TSKBF17950) is $154,118.00/YEAR to $184,118.00/YEAR.
Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
