JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Following the record-breaking success of A Greater Penn State for 21st Century Excellence— the University’s recently concluded $2.2 billion fundraising campaign—an Assistant Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations is needed to support the Division of Development and Alumni Relations in Penn State Berks , a campus providing all the rich opportunities of a world-class research university in a small, diverse, close-knit college community.

Reporting to the Director of Development and working closely with the Berks Development and Alumni Relations team, campus colleagues, and other University partners in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, this Assistant Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations will:

  • Cultivate, disseminate , and coordinate the donor recognition and stewardship program for Berks College with donors, alumni, friends, foundations and industry partners.

  • Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, through excellent informal and formal communications

  • Execute the gift acknowledgement process for gifts at all levels (annual to principal)

  • Monitor scholarship and endowment balances, coordinate endowment reporting and the student thank you letter process and liaise with the campus scholarship selection committee and financial aid staff.

  • Provide College level support to ensure consistent achievement of development stewardship metrics, including the monitoring of acknowledgement, spending, and engagement practices across the college.

  • Initiate, plan, manage development's signature events including our annual Gratitude Gathering, Chancellor’s Circle Dinner and other donor-centered events throughout the year

  • Initiate, plan, schedule, and lead thoughtful 1:1 meetings between individual and foundation donors and their student scholarship recipients

  • Produce and mail annual impact reports to scholarship and program donors

  • Manage foundation grant reporting

  • Engage in marketing and communications efforts related to the stewardship program in support of strategic priorities including print, online publications and social media engagement. Collaborate with Strategic Communications staff and other campus partners on donor impact stories and reports.

  • Develop understanding of Penn State accounting systems; manage applicable budgets, process expenses, support endowment budget administrators and work with finance office when necessary .

  • Supervis ion of student workers or interns

    This position typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, The successful candidate will also have:

  • Occasional evening and weekend work required

  • This position requires a high level of administrative coordination with College departments, other units, and central development, as well as significant interaction with alumni, donors, friends, and others in a diverse environment.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
