Eaton Corporation Senior Electrical Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

Primary Function:

Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division designs, manufactures, and services Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, battery energy storage systems, electric chargers and electronic-based products to ensure power reliability in the most demanding applications. Our employees deliver mission-critical solutions to our customers’ most challenging energy management requirements.

This individual will be responsible for supporting design development, implementation, and design validation for a wide range of energy storage power conversion and UPS products. This individual will also be responsible for executing plans for the commissioning and support of energy transition products in the field along with contributing to the platforming of development of those products particularly at the power system level. This includes the use Hardware in the Loop (HIL) methodologies during the design and validation on new products within the Eaton’s product portfolio.

Essential Functions:

-Performs modeling and simulation for the power converters and system level controllers

-Implements, tests, and troubleshoots high level controls and system interactions

-Establish system & sub-system level requirements from functional specifications and application needs

-Supports system and sub-system architecture development and assist in trade off studies

-Plans and performs design development and validation on HIL and in the lab

-Supports and performs minimum viable product testing and demonstrations in the lab or at customer sites

-Collaborates with cross functional teams within US and in EMEA and APAC

-Creates technical reports and presentations

-Initiates and leads design reviews and technical discussions including brainstorming

-Stays current with the latest technologies trends and applies knowledge to the development of control firmware for power converters

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of five (5) years industry work experience in electrical product development OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of two (2) years industry work experience in electrical product development.

-Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

-Relocation is not offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Raleigh, NC will be considered.

-Ability to demonstrate process management and figure out processes necessary to get things done.

-Ability to demonstrate technical learning and can learn new skills, knowledge, industry, product or technical knowledge.
