Penn Medicine Radnor is Looking for a FT GI Tech for the GI Endo department!

Summary:

  • Facilitates the patient's positive experience of the practice and of UPHS through delivery of care and individualized service. Supports patient experience and delivery of patient through performance of technical tasks, patient preparation and patient/family communication. Cross-train in endoscopy to assist providers during procedure as well as cleaning and sterilization of scopes and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs patient flow to and from exam rooms. Obtains all documentation required for patient visit. Prepares patient for procedures, monitoring patient’s vital signs, comfort, and safety and documents specimen collectionAssists multiple GI physicians during all proceduresReceives fresh tissue specimens from GI surgical cases and ensures specimens are appropriately labeledManages maintenance of all equipment utilized. Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing of all surgical instruments and equipment including repairs and safety checks. Contacts appropriate person for repair of faulty equipmentPrepares equipment necessary for proceduresResponsible for ordering of supplies, their storage, and cost-effective utilization. Maintains cleanliness of work environmentTakes initiative and creatively contributes to methods of patient care and practice efficiencyAnswers and screens telephone calls, takes accurate messages. Retrieves pertinent information/results needed for upcoming appointments. Confirms patient’s appointments prior to scheduled visit. Sort’s mail. Provides support to physicians as required.Updates patients’ information/medications in EPIC

Credentials:

  • Medical Assistant (Required)

  • MA or Tech certification within 90 days of hire

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)

  • Education Specialization:

  • Other (Required)

  • Education Specialization: Graduate of an accredited surgical technology school OR from an Allied Health Curriculum/School
