Radford Fire and EMS is looking for a few committed regular part-time employees. To be classified as a regular part-time employee, you will be expected to commit to working at least 24 hours each week. The City of Radford offers a pay incentive for making this commitment.
These positions are responsible for emergency medical service work responding to a variety of injuries, illnesses, fire prevention and fire suppression.
Minimum Qualifications:
Nationally Registered or Virginia EMT, Advance or Paramedic certification, ICS 700, 100, 200 and 800, an approved emergency vehicle operators course level 2 and/or 3, (ACLS, PALS Preferred) and a valid Virginia Drivers License.
An applicant that already has Firefighter certifications may be utilized on firefighting duties after additional testing and EMS precepting is complete.

PT hourly rates vary depending on certification level. Successful completion of background screening and pre-employment testing is a must. Applications should include copies of current EMS, Fire and EVOC certifications.
