Radford University Coordinator of Intramural Sports in Radford, Virginia
Job Summary:
The Intramural Sports Coordinator (1500-hour, part-time) will serve as the primary manager of the intramural sports program and will assist with supervising the recreational facilities and club sports operations.
This position’s primary responsibilities
Hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating student staff of 25-50 employees.
Provide direct supervision to student employees and ensure employee compliance with department expectations.
Conduct ongoing student-employee training sessions and student-employee evaluations.
Oversee the planning, scheduling and administration of intramural games, tournaments and special events.
Maintain inventory of intramural equipment.
·Facilitate sport-specific captain and employee meetings.
Compile and maintain intramural records, end-of-year reports, participation records, operations manuals, rules, etc.
Manage schedules and supervision of outdoor recreational sports facilities
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to lead students
Demonstrated experience in training and scheduling officials
Knowledgeable about recreational programs and services
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office and other computer applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Affiliation with regional or national sports associations (i.e. NFHS , NCAA , NAIA , ASA , NASO , etc.)
Experience in a higher education environment
Facility management experience
