The Overnight Manager is consistent in delivering results that contribute to the overall success of the hotel and drives guest experience. They are responsible for the daily supervision of the front office team and fills the role of the acting Manager on Duty. The role of Overnight Manger requires flexible availability, including weekends and Holidays. Oversees professional development, provides feedback, and manages accountability as necessary. Assists with Front Office and Night Audit operations. Directly oversee overnight security operations and manage accountability for overnight security vendor. Assists with guest issues as needed. With no supervision, gain an understanding of guest issues, and develop and implement solutions agreeable to the guest in efforts to maintain high standards of guest service. Assist security officers with handling escalated situations, bearing employee and guest safety at top of mind. Conduct rounds to ensure security officer productivity, keeping a sharp eye out for potential security risks. Follow proper internal reporting and notification procedures; coordinate with local law enforcement when necessary. Ensure the policy is followed regarding securing money, cash drawers, etc. Take action regarding violations to include immediate suspension pending investigation. Provide direct oversight of all hotel departments on the overnight shift as well as lead and coordinate with vendor services. Lead nightly stand-up meetings for Night Audit staff and Security staff. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Handles guest noise complaints. Assist Security by checking doors and service outlets to ensure they are secure. Protects the organization's image by keeping security and incident information confidential. Creative, effective leader and team player, possessing a high degree of professionalism, sound human resources management principles, communication, administrative skills and the ability to make sound and timely business decisions. Complete weekly, monthly and annual reports as necessary. Attends training seminars to perfect Front Office techniques and procedures and enhance supervisory skills. Assists Front Desk Agents with duties when necessary to provide excellent guest service. Communicate daily with department managers and pass on pertinent information. Consistently monitor the performance of associates on an on-going basis and provide feedback. Work with the Front Office Manager in rewarding, disciplining and documenting associate performance and provide timely counseling, as directed. Address associate complaints and resolve problems.
