Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Materials Planning Teams are responsible for the plans, schedules, and monitoring of the movement of material through the production cycle. They determine quantity and order date for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiate purchase or production requisitions compliant with supply agreements, and develop the schedule to be used in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Team develops specifications for new contract orders as well as forecasts and plans for labor requirements. They provide timely and accurate input on supplier performance and may be asked to participate in higher level supplier performance reviews with the strategic sourcing team. They also monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.

Materials Planning Analyst II

Band 5-3-S

TE Connectivity is currently seeking a Materials Planning Analyst II to join our Planning team. This key position will report directly to the Americas Supply Chain Manager and support Material from Asia Pacific needed in Americas.

The Materials Planning Analyst II position is responsible for purchasing materials from our key suppliers, intercompany orders, scheduling customer orders and establishing relationships to ensure excellent delivery and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding of SAP and/or Material Resource Planning Systems

• Receive, Schedule and Expedite customer orders and set priorities in SAP

• Establish and maintain working relationships with key suppliers

• Purchase materials from Internal and External suppliers

• Participate in escalations team meetings to ensure materials tasks are planned and executed

• Maintain and expedite purchase orders according to MRP requirements

• Tactical follow up with suppliers to assure materials meet quality, production, customer and on time delivery schedules

• Work closely with cross-functional teams ensuring supplier schedules, quality specifications and delivery requirements are met.

• Supplier invoice resolution

• Manage and maintain inventory levels ensuring uninterrupted supply of parts while ensuring customer reliability and meeting both production and delivery requirements

• Help achieve performance targets including: delivery, inventory & freight savings

Key Qualifications, Experiences and Knowledge:

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Business Management or Supply Chain.

• 2-4 years buyer experience or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

• Working knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain and planning operations.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

• The ability to negotiate and influence the actions of others to achieve business goals.

• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in English

• Working knowledge of SAP or equivalent Materials Resource Planning systems

Preferred:

• Strong understanding of SAP and/or Material Resource Planning Systems

• APICS certification
