Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Position Details: THE OPPORTUNITY: The Information System Manager is responsible for providing operational management, direction and leadership for the Washington State University (WSU)- Decision Aid System (DAS) which is a decision support system for pest, disease and horticultural issues in agriculture. Duties include but are not limited to developing strategic goals, project planning and implementation operation documentation and maintenance of web-based and information technology based application for DAS. In addition, the position is responsible for supervision of programmers, and working with the manager/educator and director to identify user needs and developing and implementing solutions to complex problems. This position is accountable for allocating resources and responsible for providing long term planning for system growth and maintenance. Additional Information: This is a full time position (100% FTE), temporary position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement. Temporary End Date: June 30, 2026. This is a temporary position that is renewed on an annual basis. Appointment renewal is dependent on continued funding and project needs. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years professional experience, of which one (1) year must have been in a leadership role Or a combination of education and experience totaling eight (8) years from which comparable knowledge and abilities are acquired. • Experience in managing large and complex decision support systems and technology infrastructure. • Demonstrated success in managing information technology staff. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Demonstrated experience in computer systems including graphical applications development using Javascript, pHp or equivalent programming languages, and implementation, maintenance, documentation and support. • Experience using PHP, Java script or equivalent programming languages for web-application development. Preferred Qualifications: • Advanced degree or professional accreditation in a related field. • Familiarity with Agile Development methodology. • Experience with Continuous Integration tools (Travis CI, Jenkins) and cloud computing services like AWS, Heroku, Google Cloud.
