Professional Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Assistant Finance Director (AFD) for CAHNRS Academic Programs is a member of the CAHNRS finance leadership team and reports to the Associate Dean of Student Success and Academic Programs and CAHNRS CFO and has authority to act in the absence of the CFO as delegated. The AFD is responsible for assisting with the overall financial management and administrative functions of a large complex college with 3 separate mission areas, Academic Programs (03), Research (30), and Extension (41) with $200 Million in expenditures annually and only $50 Million in permanent funding. This position will financially support AP & Dean for all area budget, financial management and reporting including best management practices and consultive support, tuition management, fiscal notes, annual Budget Office considerations (allocations), provisos and other college level funding activities that originate in the dean's office. The AFD supervises the Budget & Finance and Business Services team including college HCM/Personnel function. The AFD is a "point of contact" (POC) for a block of units/cost centers generally (majority) aligned to AP. The AFD uses significant independent judgment while assisting the Director including, but not limited to, overseeing accounting, budget (allocations), and finance including one time and reoccurring funding snap shots & projections, temporary & permanent commitments, assist in department process improvement, training, developing and implementing policies, procedures, and practices to ensure university, state and federal compliance and oversees or serves as an administrative liaison to college departments and relevant university business offices. Required Qualifications: • Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least one (1) year of managerial experience. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year­-for-year basis. • Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment. Positions may require applicable licensure and/or certification. • Must have, or able to maintain, a valid driver's license by time of hire. • Must be able and willing to travel as needed.
