We're hiring a full-time First Episode Psychosis (FEP) Peer Support Specialist, to join us at our Youth and Family Services facility at 1012 W. Abriendo, Pueblo, CO

What You'd Be Doing

FEP Peer Support Specialist works in partnership with clients and their families who are experiencing a first episode psychosis. The peer support specialist facilitates recovery discussions with clients, must be able to articulate personal goals for recovery and support and aid clients in identifying and creating goals. Assists in developing recovery plans with the skills, strengths, supports and resources to aid clients in achieving those goals. Assists in obtaining services that suit the client's recovery needs. Assists patients in setting up and sustaining self-help and other supportive community resources. Teaches and role models the value of every individual's recovery experience. Models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies. Assists clients in developing empowerment skills and combatting stigma through self-advocacy.

The Peer Support Specialist, works under the direction of the FEP Team Lead and supervisory designee to

Communicate with individuals experiencing first episode psychosis; Support clients by offering them information and hope; Reassure clients through active listening and consultation; Locate resources and make referrals to community partners; Transport clients as needed; Perform light housekeeping duties; and Physical requirements include the following:

Requires standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 15 pounds Requires working under stress in emergency situations Requires occasional driving, at times in adverse weather conditions Requires frequent operation of a computer

High school diploma or GED equivalent Personal knowledge of and experience with behavioral health setting with clients experiencing psychosis Valid Colorado driver license and access to reliable transportation during work hours
