Program Assistant, General Education First Year Foundations

BYU created a new class for all incoming students--UNIV 101: First Year Foundations--and the Undergraduate Education staff are busy behind the scenes making that happen. If you enjoy detail work (like faculty and classroom scheduling), answering student questions, and coordinating events, this job could be for you! We will teach you all about the new course and how you can support the assistant director and our hard-working team. We look forward to receiving your application. 

*What you'll do in this position: *

  • Schedule all classroom and faculty sections of UNIV 101 classes.
  • Communicate with students and parents regarding the registration process.
  • Support the assistant director to organize and carry out UNIV 101 events.
  • Assist in all other course administration aspects as needed.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU 
  • Bachelor's degree    

Preferred

  • Experience with program administration and university functions
  • Skilled in working with administrators and faculty
  • Understand higher education values, research, and trends
  • Proficient in oral and written communication
  • Understand BYU academic policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in collaborative staff environment
  • Competent in office organization and systems
  • Understand and commit to the aims and mission of a BYU education  

Employee Class: 1/2 Time (17.5 hour)

Work Location: Provo Campus

Approximate Starting Salary: $19.22-22.09/hr
