Family Service of Rhode Island Inc.* Community Engagement and Planning Intern in Providence, Rhode Island
FSRI is always looking for candidates that want to make a positive impact on the community we serve in!
Position Summary:The intern will support the team on a variety of community engagement projects in the South Providence area. This includes the planning and execution of community-based events. The Community Engagement and Planning Intern reports to the Director of Equity and Place Based Initiatives. This is an unpaid internship opportunity for hours towards credit-awarding programs, or for personal learning experience. Duration and hours are flexible based on the needs of the student and project.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education in an accredited degree awarding program
- Ability to work with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Team player and creative thinker
- Highly organized and detail-ORIENTED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid schedule, with attendance at in-person community events required
- Travel to and from community locations and office sites, which could include using walkways, stairs and/or elevators
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
