Regulatory Technical Manager / Senior Manager Plainsboro, New Jersey, USHybrid / Remote / On-Site

In this role our ideal candidate will serve as the lead regulatory support for DSM Firmenich / Campus ingredients and other key plant based products/projects supporting our Plant Based Platform within Taste Texture and Health (TTH) for North America region. Will deliver exceptional customer service on projects, programs and/or processes to ensure regulatory compliance. Monitor and interpret food legislation, ensuring products comply with the relevant legislation and supplying information to customers and technical teams.

Your key responsibilities

  • The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Accountable for regulatory compliance for existing and new raw materials and blends (North America mainly)

  • Responsible for providing customer compliance documentation such as food allergen, genetically modified food, gluten free and religious 3rd party certification suitability. Preparation of Technical Data Sheets (TDS) of finished products, advise on labels of our products and customers products

  • Provide customers and business partners with answers for product labelling and compliance-related questions as well as creative compliance options. Manage relations with suppliers / customers in the event of regulatory clarifications, advice on any alternative declarations.

  • Manage relations with external consultants regarding the assigned areas, in order to ensure a correct interpretation of local regulations.

  • Remain aware of all regulatory, health and safety issues relevant to the Food industry in NAM, keeping the contact with external bodies

  • Maintains existing raw material and technical information files to ensure that data are kept regularly updated to ensure accuracy of information

  • Drive efficiencies and look to continuously improve upon ways of working and best in class delivery of services to our customers .

    You bring

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree/MSs in Food Science or closely related discipline (Nutrition, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Agricultural Sc.) with a minimum of 3-5 years food or food ingredients regulatory experience, experience in nutrition area is a plus

  • Experience with US and Canadian food/food ingredients regulations is required, experience with flavors regulations preferred; ability to interpret them (including hazard classification, labelling, packaging…)

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Able to work in a fast paced and agile environment.

  • High attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong computer software skills (excel, word, SAP, etc.)
