Role reports to: Senior Manager EMEA Network Services

Location: Prague

What you will do

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for leading software design, service architecture, and software development/solution engineering. You will also manage junior engineers, lead design and code reviews within the service, and investigate emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement:

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network infrastructure.

• Develop and maintain network security protocols and procedures.

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network infrastructure meets business needs.

• Deliver data network, voice and contact center operations across all businesses within the region.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve network infrastructure.

• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for network equipment and services.

• Develop disaster recovery plans and conduct regular testing to ensure network resilience.

• Experience in all major network technologies such as switching / routing, WAN, WLAN, IPT, Firewalls, load balancers, Cloud exchange/CoLo, cloud-based network services, and SDN.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

• Lead the technical architecture and solution design of services and solutions.

• Manage and mentor junior engineers in software development and engineering.

• Participate in cross-service design and code reviews with peers.

• Investigate emerging technologies and new engineering techniques to drive continuous improvement of the service.

• Collaborate and integrate with engineering services and platforms.

• Ensure complete delivery of solutions by interacting with cross-functional teams, including Enterprise Architecture.

• 3-5 years of demonstrated success designing, deploying and/or managing a highly available WAN, LAN and WLAN infrastructure on Cisco Hardware (Catalyst, Viptela, Meraki).

• 3 years designing Software Defined network solutions for enterprise customers such as SDWAN, SD-Branch or SD-Access.

• Advanced understanding of network protocols OMP, OSPF; EIGRP, BGP, spanning-tree, hardware and software manufacturers and their roles within the industry (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet Zscaler, and F5).

• 3-5 years of demonstrated success designing, deploying and/or managing highly available Network Cloud Solutions in AWS and AZR (CWAN, vHub, native Firewall and load-balancer)

• 1-2 years of network infrastructure automation development with scripting experience in Python, Terraform, Ansible and Restful API.

• Review and revise documentation on solutions, technical requirements, components, and APIs.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 10-12 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and other leading network equipment vendors.

• Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing.

• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA and PCI-DSS.

• 10-12 years of related experience in software development and engineering.

• Strong knowledge of technical architecture and architecture of component/software service platforms.

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Expertise in subject matter and a combination of business process and technology.

• Experience in agile or waterfall development projects using standard toolsets and services in a test/behavior driven development approach.

• Experience in leading design and code reviews within the service.

• Experience in investigating emerging technologies and new engineering techniques.

• Experience in collaborating and integrating with engineering services and platforms.
