NANA Regional Corporation Database Analyst - Work-from-Home Flexible in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

The Database Analyst evaluates and reviews U.S State Department database resources and services while ensuring high levels of data quality. These duties can vary within a department and include developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.

There is an onsite expectation for this role with work-from-home flexibility. Operational needs and our telework policy determine your work location. You must also live within 90 miles of the National Visa Center in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Responsibilities

Design logical and physical databases or review a description of changes to the database design to understand the impact to the application and operation.

  • Develop and deploy reports and extraction, transformation, and loading process packages to support applications data integration and operation needs.

  • Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL database applications.

  • Assist application and web development staff and users on database solutions to business problems; data warehouse architectures; database management system facilities; and capabilities, operation, and tuning of databases.

  • Administer, maintain, develop, and implement database security and integrity policies and procedures.

  • Perform database and software life-cycle activities to ensure highest level of system performance and availability and compliance with business requirements.

  • Perform database backup and monitor scheduled database jobs daily.

  • Apply database service patches when necessary to ensure database compliance with regulation and polices.

  • Monitor, administer, and implement database systems performance as well as database performance optimization, develop/change database indices, redesign database structure and reload data into a database.

  • Coordinate with the system backup team to ensure database is fully backed up and stored in a designated environment.

  • Work with business units to convert requirements to database objects and implement business intelligence reports to meet organization needs.

  • Administration and use of current and emerging database tools, strategies, and technologies.

  • Evaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • Three (3) or more years' experience in ORACLE database administration or relevant experience.

  • Strong PL/SQL knowledge.

  • Oracle Database Administration, Oracle Database SQL, or Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer certified preferred.

  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET-level federal security clearance.

You must also successfully complete a criminal and credit background investigation as well as a comprehensive investigation as part of the security clearance process before you can begin work.
