ZGF Architects Furniture Specialist in Portland, Oregon

ZGF is seeking a Furniture Specialist to join our team in the Portland office. We’re looking for creative, motivated and curious design talent with a passion for Architecture, Interior Design and the built environment. We’re offering a position within the Interiors Group for an individual who will work with and support experienced design staff on a diversity of project opportunities

As a Furniture Specialist, you will…

  • Develop furniture budgets, specifications and bid packages

  • Have the ability to design layouts showing location of furniture and equipment

  • Coordinate vendor quotes for the procurement of furniture and installation

  • Meet with clients, conduct programming to understand their needs and plan appropriate solutions to meet their requirements

  • Be able to remain focused on multiple projects at one time with competing timelines

  • Have the ability to coordinate furniture fairs and sit tests

  • Have the ability to work successfully with other professionals in a collaborative environment

  • Have a thorough understanding of the design and documentation process and ability to create, direct, and manage large-scale projects from start to completion

  • Have a thorough understanding of material and finish properties and appropriate applications for a variety of furniture types and settings

  • Have superior graphic skills and the ability to communicate design intent through both digital and traditional graphic mediums is a plus

  • Have experience working with large teams

  • Be able and willing to travel

  • Have the ability to create presentation sheets in Revit and InDesign

  • Have the ability to learn new software

    Qualifications:

  • A bachelor (or higher) degree in Interior Design or Architecture and 10 years minimum of

experience in the field.

  • Proficient in Revit

  • Proficient in furniture specification software SpecSource is a plus

  • For planning and layout purposes, have a basic understanding of building code and ADA

requirements and clearances

  • Experience on healthcare, workplace and higher education projects is desirable.

  • Proven experience in successfully managing clients and team decisions

  • Proficiency in selection and specification of FF&E

  • Have superior organizational skills
