Description

Sue Sumrell is recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the service industry. This role involves overseeing accounting policies and procedures, preparing financial analysis, monitoring key financial and operational metrics, and managing a high-performance team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of monthly financial statements.

• Monitor, analyze, and optimize the inflow and outflow of cash on a daily basis.

• Prepare financial analysis with emphasis on monthly financial statement variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior year.

• Monitor key financial and operational metrics to determine progress against strategic plan, budget, and forecast.

• Assist in the creation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts.

• Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual audits.

• Establish and maintain a quality partnership with human resources team on the facilitation, audit, and review of various benefits programs.

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Skills:

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems and Controllership Functions.

• Solid understanding of Auditing and Budget Processes.

• Knowledge of US GAAP and WIP - Work In Progress.

• Experience with Deltek software is a plus

Requirements

• Experience in in a Controller role or similar position for a minimum of 10 years.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Expertise in managing all Accounting Functions.

• Demonstrated competence in Auditing procedures and techniques.

• Proven experience in managing Budget Processes.

• Knowledge of Controllership Functions.

• Familiarity with US GAAP.

• Experience in managing WIP - Work In Progress.

• Proficiency in using Deltek software.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business conditions.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and professional certification - CPA or CMA. Public accounting experience highly preferred.

• Ability to work collaboratively with various internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.

• High level of integrity and accountability.10+
