Description

We are seeking a Controller to join our team based in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the end of month close, strategic planning, and maintaining financial statements. You will also need to have some business tax experience, preferably in partnership with an external CPA. This role offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to contribute to our team's success.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage end of month close operations

• Maintain and present financial statements with accuracy and precision

• Contribute to strategic planning initiatives to support business goals

• Work collaboratively with an external CPA to manage business tax matters

• Leverage your experience in accounting, preferably within the engineering or construction industry

• Utilize Deltek software for various accounting tasks (training can be provided if needed)

• Engage in project accounting activities, with exposure to payroll processes

• Manage budget processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Prepare annual tax and financial reporting documents

• Use your skill set in Project Accounting, Budget Processes, Month End Close, Annual Tax, and Annual Financial Reporting to drive success in your role.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or related field

• Proven proficiency in budget processes is required

• Experience with month end close processes is necessary

• Must be familiar with annual tax preparations and submissions

• Knowledge and experience in annual financial reporting is essential

• Demonstrated ability in project accounting is required

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is mandatory

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is highly desirable

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to manage a team.
