Job Details Our Surgical Services Secretary will: Be responsible for performing administrative tasks for the Surgical Services area Manage all telephone calls timely, including taking messages and timely communication with the Healthcare Team Maintain all service contracts for all OR equipment Maintain all vendor information, education, and current vaccination status Input all OR audits Receive all add on surgery cases and communicates them to the OR ANCC Monitor all arrival times of surgeons, anesthesia and staff for first case on time starts and reports them to director. Order and maintain all office supplies for the OR, and supplied for OR EVS; routinely checks supplies and ensures that there are not any expired supplies on cart or on unit Track OR equipment Maintain minutes for all OR committee and staff meetings Communicate information to and/ or from other departments to assist in the coordination of surgeries Maintain availability and organization of communication sources, i.e. bulletin boards, assignment boards, reference materials, policy and procedure manuals; phone / beeper directory, etc. Maintain a clean and organized OR front desk area Complete all Unit logs, refrigerators, eyewash stations etc. Participate in unit based performance improvement activities such as conducting Hand Hygiene Surveillance, Foley Surveillance reports, and other as assigned Partner with an interdisciplinary team including, but not limited to, attending physicians, Registered Nurses (RNs), and ancillary staff to meet the needs of patients and optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction What you’ll bring: Passion for Healthcare Education: High School Diploma or GED required Previous clerical and customer service skills necessary Basic computer skills Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention Training) to be attained within 3 months of hire Salary Range USD $22.00 - USD $35.05 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
