Catawba Island Club Customer Service Front Desk - 1st Shift in Port Clinton, Ohio

Catawba Island Club is currently taking applications for a Customer Service Front Desk Clerk for the 2024 season. This is a seasonal, first shift position.  

Catawba Island Club (CIC) is a full-service private Club resort with a hotel , 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, marina, retail shop, fitness center, dining rooms, banquet rooms, patio dining, indoor and outdoor bars, pools. CIC has been a family-owned business since 1967. Catawba Island Club has earned a strong reputation for creating outstanding experiences for our members and guests.

We are looking for a well organized, people-focused professional to join our Front Office team 1st shift. The Front Office is the hub of the entire operation which means that you will work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

The right person will already know how or willing to learn to:

  • Performs the daily responsibilities of these positions and assists where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests/visitors.
  • Answers questions regarding operations.
  • Makes dining and hotel reservations.
  • Operates retail point-of-sale.
  • Check-ins and Check-outs for hotel rooms.
  • Upholds a service and management philosophy which guides respective staff toward meeting standards.
  • Also assists any function to guarantee optimum service to guests and employees.

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • Must be a clear and confident communicator - written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Front Office operations is required: answering and redirecting phone calls, reservation and/or appointment tracking, computer skills.
  • Basic accounting (e.g. cash management)
  • Retail

Education: High school diploma

General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain information confidentiality.
