Erae AMS USA Maintenance Technician in Pontiac, Michigan

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our plant in Pontiac MI. As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventive/planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic system, cylinders and valves, air compressors and responsible for plant facility equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot assembly line equipment, EOL vision tester, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, OETIKER pincer tool.
  • Provide on-site technical support during start up and commissioning of new installations.
  • Perform daily maintenance, report, repair/replace log, write-up, and review with maintenance & ME team.
  • Create EWO (Emergency Work Order) after completion of maintenance troubleshooting.
  • Write-up 5-Why report as needed.
  • Perform scheduled PM task. And update eMaint PM task after completion.
  • Daily walk-through of air compressor room.
  • Support main grease line. (Until Operation group is fully capable).
  • Continuously update AM, PM and CILR and Consult AM (Autonomous Maintenance) and CILR (Clean Inspect Lubricate & Re tighten) programs with Operations team.
  • Order parts as needed and conduct monthly spare parts audits
  • Miscellaneous operator training. (Until Operation group is fully capable)
  • Quality maintenance and support.
  • OEE improvement support.
  • Early Equipment Maintenance
  • Lead safety, health & environment awareness.
  • Support maintenance BPI (Business Plan Initiatives) and propose cost savings idea
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Establish and maintain standards and maintenance of equipment in accordance with engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Actively engage in continuous improvement by leading business process improvement efforts plant wide.
  • Address questions and provide information related to project concerns to company and vendors.
  • Identify problems and implement cost effective solutions.
  • Provide instruction in operation, set-up, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required skills, competencies and experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma combined with relative work experience is required.
  • 3+ yrs. experience in a mechanical maintenance capacity preferably in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
  • Strong background in mechanical, fluid power troubleshooting and repair. 
  • Basic knowledge of machine maintenance practices.
  • Strong Safety knowledge and awareness
  • Must be proficient in Servo Systems, Industrial Automation Conrols Systems and Devices (PLC, HMI, I/O, photoelectric sensors, proximity sensors)
  • Proficient in Pneumatic systems/Devices, Hydraulic Systems and Vision Systems
  • Ability to use power tools, hands tools, multimeter, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS office suites
  • Ability to multitask with the ability to prioritize
  • Great communication skills
  • Journeyman certification
