Become an Analytics Compliance Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll work with Program Subject Matter Experts (SME’s)/Program Managers, IT Project managers, and matrix teams consisting of managers and employees in Transmission and Distribution (T&D), Asset Strategy and Planning (ASP), Information Technology (IT), Operational Services, Generation, Corporate Security, Ethics and Compliance (E&C), and Law to support SCE’s Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Compliance. The overall focus for this position is SCE’s Bulk Electric System (BES) Cyber Systems (CS) compliance activity. You will be actively involved as National Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) CIP Reliability Standards and Requirements to ensure that SCE maintains compliance, mitigates risk, and ensures appropriate and specific controls are in place. You'll also be instrumental in supporting audits and investigations and ensuring self-certifications are maintained accordingly.

  • Promotes the reliability of the BES through rigorous compliance with applicable NERC Reliability Standards monitoring and enforcement activities and functions as a team member for internal and external audit preparation

  • Facilitates recurring meetings with relevant team members to ensure SCE’s Bulk Electric System Cyber Systems (BCS) evidence are tracked and accounted for properly

  • Maintains SCE’s listing of BES Cyber Assets by coordinating with SME and other partners

  • Prepares NERC CIP compliance procedures with responsibilities across SCE’s Business Units (BU)

  • Helps prepare NERC CIP data requests responses and audit preparation (self-certification, re-certification, standards interpretation)

  • Facilitates frequent meetings and cross collaboration with SCE NERC CIP peers, and other SCE business groups (IT, Corporate Security, E&C)

  • Attends and participates in various conferences, workshops, hearings and regulatory meetings related to regulation and ongoing proceedings or issues of interest to the T&D and System Planning & Engineering (SPE) Business Units

  • Supports NERC CIP programs including Access Management and Revocation Program (AMR), System Security and Monitoring Program (SSM) and others

The essentials

  • 5 years of Data Analyst experience working with data sets (MS Access, MS Excel\: creating, updating, and processing data)

  • Experience conducting quantitative analysis and developing dashboards, data visualizations, and decision-making tools.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field

  • Experience NERC/FERC Reliability Standards, including regulatory standards as related to the following registration categories\: Transmission Owner, Transmission Operator, Generation Owner and Generation Operator

  • Experience with regulatory compliance

  • Experience identifying Critical Assets and Critical Cyber Assets; providing cyber or physical security services for an electrical utility

  • Understanding of T&D, Corporate Security and/or IT organizations

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational skills

  • Experience performing ad-hoc analysis, including identifying client needs, capturing relevant information from appropriate stakeholders, analyze, prioritize, and communicating information

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
