Job Summary:\ Mama Inez, a beloved Mexican restaurant in Pocatello, is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen, a love for authentic Mexican cuisine, and a strong work ethic. This role involves preparing and cooking meals to the restaurants high standards, ensuring food quality, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Mexican dishes, including entrees, appetizers, and desserts.
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
- Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate with management for inventory needs.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in maintaining kitchen equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Adhere to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a Mexican restaurant.
- Knowledge of traditional Mexican cooking techniques and ingredients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Food Handlers Permit or willingness to obtain one.
