State of Massachusetts Inpatient Clinical Social Worker (CSW A/B) in Pocasset, Massachusetts

The Department of Mental Health (DMH) is seeking a dynamic candidate with social work experience to serve as an Inpatient Clinical Social Worker A/B. The incumbent will provide social work services to adults on an acute psychiatric unit utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach and client centered, trauma informed model. The selected candidate will provide supportive counseling to individuals and families including treatment and discharge planning, implement specifically assigned tasks related to treatment plans for patients, review patients progress and recommends and arranges for the transfer of patients to other programs or facilities. In addition, the candidate will provide therapeutic groups on the IPU. _ Please Note:_ This position is full-time, 40 hours per week. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with Sunday and Saturday off. _ Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):_ * Admission assessments, treatment planning and service as social work resource to assist in obtaining patient's medical benefits. * Discharge planning and aftercare coordination with patients, their community providers, community caregivers, relatives, and other members of their community team. * Documents assessments, reports, and notes as is required by the Department of Social Work and DMH standards. * Provide therapy groups to clients on a 16-bed inpatient unit and document in accordance with facility policies and procedures. * Active participation in case conferences and daily rounds by presenting clients psychosocial data. _Required Qualifications:_ * Current and valid licensures as a Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Social Work. * Demonstrated experience with the principals and practices of clinical and social psychology and the human services field. * Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively with staff members, patients, and the representatives of community organizations. * Knowledge of the organization and functions of community mental health programs and a capability to work cooperatively and effectively with staff members, patients, and the representatives of community organizations. * Proficiency with the principles, practices and techniques of counseling and the fundamental types and problems of mental disorders. * Competence with the provisions of the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards, and guidelines governing assigned unit activities. * An aptitude for establishing rapport with person from different ethnic, cultural and/or economic backgrounds, interacting with people who are under physical and/or emotional stress and handling stressful emergency situations. _ Preferred Qualifications: _ * Knowledge of community service network * Experience working with individuals with mental illness. * Given the population served, bilingual or multilingual fluency. _ About the Pocasset Mental Health Center on Cape Cod:_ The Pocasset Mental Health Center provides comprehensive services to adults and children. Programs include a 16-bed acute in-patient unit, Case Management, Day Treatment Program, and Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS).
