Our Sourcing team is directly responsible for ensuring that Daikin and our suppliers acheive cost fairness and meaningful long-term business relationships. To this end, we are hiring a Buyer II for Central Operations! As a Buyer II, you will play a critical role in optimizing the procurement process for drop-ship orders. You will be responsible for ensuring correct pricing and lead-times, item maintenance, managing purchase orders and electronic transactions; in addition to supporting Central Operations sourcing initiatives and managing supplier relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency in the procurement of goods and services. The ideal candidate will possess analytical skills, have problem-solving capabilities, is customer-services oriented, has strong written and verbal communications skills, and a good understanding of procurement processes. Key Responsibilities Include: Process requests for products and commodities, adjust priority levels based on customer needs. Prepare and issue purchase orders and requisitions from approved contracts and agreements in accordance with company guidelines. Complete comparative analysis on suppliers to obtain the best price for goods possible while maintaining supply to deliver on commitments. Solicits formal and informal bids in accordance with standard procedures and compares and analyzes price quotations. Maintains an accurate information database with supplier lead times, open purchases, commitments, and shortages. Maintains data, prepares reports and analyzes information using available software in decision-making. Analyze product usage; investigates complaints and secures adjustments. Resolve supplier quality defects, documenting results and supplier performance. Initiates quality programs that benefit supplier relationships while improving the quality for customer. Utilize ERP to plan procurement activities. Develop relationships with suppliers. Analyze market conditions to develop forward looking strategies. Preform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Administrative, Business, Liberal Arts or Social Sciences) 2+ years of applicable experience. Computer Skills - Knowledge of internet software, order processing systems, project management software, proficient knowledge in Microsoft suite.
