The Position

The primary responsibility of the Pharmacy Distribution and Specialty Markets Account Executive (PDSM AE) within the Market Access & Account Management group (MA & AM) is to develop and manage business relationships across a series of stakeholders within National US-based Wholesalers, Specialty Distributors Specialty Pharmacies, Retail Pharmacy, In-Store/Retail Clinics and their subsidiaries. Through these business relationships, the PDSM will lead the account management efforts to maximize the flow of our Company products into the different channels and bring resources and solutions to customers that will contribute to better health outcomes for patients.

The PDSM Account Executive works cross-functionally with personnel from the individual brand teams, Order to Cash, Supply Chain Management, Field Sales, and other areas across our Company to ensure product access and availability to down-stream customers and their patients.

Responsibilities

  • Account and business planning (strategic and tactical) by customer based on the entire product portfolio, as required, to support the individual products.

  • Collaborates with leadership and HQ personnel in the negotiation, execution and adherence to the Distribution Service Agreements (DSAs) and other contract offerings, as appropriate.

  • Collaborates with leadership and HQ personnel in the negotiation, execution and adherence to the Specialty Product Purchase Agreements within specialty pharmacies and specialty GPO’s, as appropriate.

  • Accountable for individual account performance against strategic, financial, and product access KPI’s.

  • Collaborates with the customer team to identify and pursue areas of mutual opportunity based on better health outcomes for patients.

  • Responsible for negotiating, communicating and implementing stocking incentives with key customers in support of new drug launches to ensure that product is available to downstream customers.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • BS/BA required; R.Ph./Pharm.D. desired.

  • Minimum 5 years of combined Managed Care related experience (e.g. Customer Team Leader, Managed Care Marketing, Solutions, Planning).

  • Demonstrated business acumen and account management skills.

  • Broad and deep understanding of managed markets, health care trends and policy, specialty pharmacy, and pharmaceutical distribution channels.

  • Strategic and tactical planning skills.

  • Consultative selling skills with clinical and scientific knowledge.]

  • Project management skills.

  • Analytical skills to assess current and potential opportunities to maximize the trade channel.

  • Familiarity with Integrichain cloud and Excel is a plus.

  • Candidates should be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to drive business results, solve problems, effectively communicate (oral and written), collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and build diverse business relationship networks.

  • 25% overnight travel.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical distribution, specialty distribution, and/or retail, mail, or specialty pharmacy. Preferred skills include account planning, business planning, contracting strategy, contract negotiations, and solution development.

Annualized Salary Range (US)

$136,600.00 - $232,300.00
