A K9 Handler works with a specially trained dog to enforce laws and policies, deter criminal activities, and protect public safety. This role involves training, caring for the dog, handling the dog during patrols, and assisting in various security or law enforcement operations.
Train and handle the K9 to perform specific tasks such as detection, tracking, and apprehension
Maintain detailed records of the K9's activities, training, and care. Prepare reports on incidents and findings.
High school diploma or equivalent
criminal justice or related fields
3 years in a supervisor or specialized Security field.
K9 certification
Excellent communication skills, ability to work well within a team, and maintain public relations.
Must be dedicated to the continuous training and care of the K9 partner, including off-duty hours if necessary.
High level of physical fitness to handle the rigors of patrol duties and manage the K9.
