Director, Talent Acquisition (L5)

The Director, Talent Acquisition (TA) is tasked with refining and advancing the organization's approach to attracting top-tier talent. This position entails offering guidance, backing, advocacy, and foresight to the talent acquisition team, which assists hiring managers throughout the company's various departments.

On a day-to-day basis, the Director of Talent Acquisition assumes leadership responsibilities for the TA team, lends support for hiring requisites, and collaborates closely with both the HR team and business leaders to ensure the delivery of exceptional service. There's a particular emphasis on establishing clear TA metrics and ensuring the company excels in compliance and governance standards. Moreover, this role encompasses the creation and implementation of initiatives tailored to meet the demands of the business.

Collaboration is key in this role, as the Director works across functions with HR Centers of Excellence, Cross-BU HR Leaders, and HR Business Partners to steer HR strategy and enhance operational efficiencies. Additionally, close coordination with business leaders and senior HR management is vital for identifying essential organizational and workflow enhancements that promote compliance and operational streamlining. The TA Director also plays a pivotal role in fostering diversity within the organization by pinpointing qualified and positive placements, with a continuous commitment to

enhancing diversity nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of key talent acquisition strategy. Lead the development of a full candidate lifecycle experience from sourcing, recruitment, internal stakeholder partnerships and management, offer, and pre on-boarding

  • Develop and execute the employer branding and candidate experience across channels that align with company objectives and strategies

  • Team leadership and development: inspire, enable and support the TA team in their development and performance

  • Educate and coach hiring managers on available talent pool, recruiting best practices, and their role in supporting the company’s hiring policies, practices, and company values

  • Build strong selection capabilities, and criteria that delivers high quality hires

  • Build and implement a framework for a roster of external recruitment firms, including financial and quality parameters

  • Build industry awareness and market intelligence regarding hiring and compensation trends and challenges

  • Develop cost-conscious recruiting strategies that support the company’s needs; implement new processes and continuously improve existing processes in continuance of the company’s mission to source high quality talent

  • Develop and manage the creation of all exempt and non-exempt recruiting strategies through multiple channels including internet prospecting, networking, employee referrals, job fairs, college recruiting, internet ads, industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, database searches and other means to drive appropriate applicant flow for timely placement of diverse, top talent candidates

  • Establish a robust database of candidates by functional expertise and other qualified attributes as a sourcing tool for future organizational needs

  • Be the subject matter expert on all recruiting platforms. Oversee the strict application of candidate and ATS management including database development, consideration recordkeeping, interviewing plans, and recap meetings for each open position. Ensure continued commitment to diverse panel interviews to foster an inclusive hiring process

  • Provides the overall functional direction and ensures the tactical execution for the design and delivery of talent acquisition including implementing DHL employer brand strategy

  • Program Mgmt:Manage our partnerships with alumni associations, colleges and job boards

  • Support company strategic vision by working closely with senior leaders, providing insight, suggesting resources and tools to enhance the process, including partnership with HR stakeholders to identify, build and continuously improve customer, candidate and hiring manager experiences

  • Oversee and develop TA departmental policies and processes

  • Manage and Complete Special Projects as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience with minimum 5 years Talent Acquisition

  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Excellent English language skills including verbal, written, reading comprehension, and presentation skills, ability to collaborate along all levels within the organization and give timely and meaningful counsel to senior management

  • Knowledge and experience in human resource programs, processes, administrative procedures and compliance with US government laws/regulations

  • High degree of process orientation, business acumen and judgment skills

  • Customer service focus with ability to understand how the business operates and the upstream and downstream activities that impact and are impacted by shared services

  • Experience in developing and leading project teams focused on process alignment and continuous improvement

  • Experience in creating and interpreting metrics representing functional performance, benchmarking goals, and comparative outcomes

  • Career history demonstrating delivery of projects/assignments that drive value

  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Well organized and sound judgement at all times. Ability to think conceptually, is forward looking, continually innovating, and improving. Results and process driven and possess excellent problem solving skills

  • Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines
