Position Summary: The Safety & Training Manager works under the supervision of the General Manager and is responsible for the safety training, initial operator training, retraining, and overall safety culture of our public transit operation. Some duties include coordinating the commercial driver\'s license training program, initial or ongoing employee training, regular safety meetings and positive employee contacts, as well as establishing and promoting a culture of a safe, healthy, and accident-free transit operations. Additionally, the Safety & Training Manager is responsible for the development and active management of BTM\'s compliance with safety goals and Operator service standards established by federal, state, Company, and Authority policy. This position conducts a variety of progressively complex duties related to employee training, building and workplace inspection, safety compliance management, including FTA safety programs and any associated procedures, policies, or other activities. This is a non-disciplinary position. Any safety or training infractions will be reported to the GM with recommendations for consideration.This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing, under Federal Transit Administration (FTA) drug and alcohol regulations. This position directly supervises zero (0) employees. Licensing -At minimum, candidates must either obtain or maintain a CDL Class A or B with Air Brakes and Passenger endorsements. Applicants are not required to apply with a CDL or CDL permit. CDL permit and license training is available for unlicensed applicants currently holding a Class D license. -Possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, a valid Bus Operators License issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU), reimbursable. -Possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, an OSHA 30-hour General Industry Training Certification -Possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, either the Certified Safety and Security Officer (CSSO) certification through CTTA (Community Transportation Association of America) or the Transit Safety and Security Program (TSSP) certification through TSI (Transportation Safety Institute) Job Type: Full-time Pay: \$60,000.00 - \$65,000.00 per year Benefits: -401(k) -401(k) matching -Dental insurance -Employee assistance program -Health insurance -Life insurance -Paid time off -Vision insurance Schedule: -Day shift -Monday to Friday
