Reference #: 49787 The Treasury department is responsible for the management of BNY Mellon's balance sheet.  It assumes a variety of risks in its activities to generate net interest income, largely through the monetization of the firm's deposit base through its investment portfolio of fixed income securities.  Additionally, the Treasury drives the allocation of the Firm's financial resources across the company, balancing capital and liquidity needs and demands and works to create the appropriate financial incentives for the businesses using these scarce resources. The Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk oversight function is the second line of defense responsible for the oversight of Recovery and Resolution Planning at BNY Mellon. Recovery plans need to demonstrate how the firm would recover if the firm were to experience significant decreases in capital and liquidity as a result of a severe crisis event. Resolution Plans need to demonstrate how BNY Mellon would be resolved in an orderly way (i.e. without causing a major market disruption).  The team is meant to ensure that Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk is identified, measured, controlled, reported, and monitored by first line of defense; the main responsibilities include, but not limited to: Independently reviewing and challenging the first line of defense's Recovery and Resolution Planning processes and forecasts; Reviewing and evaluating the Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk aspects of significant new products / services, business process changes, and entity structures/acquisitions/divestures changes. Key Treasury counterparts include Corporate Treasury, at the corporate level and across the world.  Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk oversight team works very actively with the other Treasury Risk functions, and within Risk & Compliance functions relating to Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk.  As BNY Mellon is a Global Systemically Important Bank (GSIB), the regulatory requirements and expectations for the Treasury and Treasury Risk are at the highest standard in the country. The Principle is an individual contributor working within the Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk oversight team and will be responsible for a variety of activities including: Applying knowledge of Recovery and Resolution Planning risk management best practices and financial markets in support of analyzing, monitoring, and measuring related risk. Understanding the end-to-end Risk Management process, Models, and Risk limits to support  review and challenge and improvements to the existing framework. Working with senior management roles to ensure that the appropriate Recovery and Resolution plans, policies, methods, standards, processes, and training are developed, applied and understood by impacted stakeholders. Perform ongoing analysis and monitoring of risk exposures including liaising with business partners to understand and validate significant movements in metrics Producing (and may deliver) risk presentations to senior management. Anticipates and addresses Audit and regulatory concerns regarding the Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk framework, governance, and operations to promote compliance with appropriate internal and external standards. In partnership with management, establishes and supports the Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk strategy for the business area(s) and is accountable for ensuring the implementation of that strategy. Assists in the development and implementation of tools and procedures to measure and monitor multiple risks hierarchically and across the entire organization including interacting with technology and first line colleagues. Develop and document processes to ensure consistency of practices within Treasury Risk. Manage existing processes to ensure accurate and timely implementation. Oversees, advises, and guides Recovery and Resolution Planning initiatives in other jurisdictions and provides guidance on local regulatory request related to resolution and recovery planning. Keep up-to-date on regulatory developments in the global Recovery and Resolution Planning space. Requirements: Bachelors Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of total work experience with 10-12 years of experience in market or liquidity risk preferred. Experience in financial services is strongly preferred.  Background in math, statistics, finance, economics, risk management,  operations research, engineering or a similar field is preferred. Knowledge of and funding, cash flow projections, balance sheet and income statement projections, liquidity measures, capital ratios, liquidity and capital stress testing and relevant regulation is preferred. BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $125,000 and $175,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
