UPMC Physical Therapy (PT) Facility Director in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The incumbent oversees the daily organization and administration of a patient care center, contractual services, or management initiatives developed by the corporation. They report to the regional POD Director or a corporate management team member appointed by the Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, the incumbent delivers Physical Therapy evaluations and treatments, leveraging advanced clinical skills based on facility needs

Responsibilities:

### Budget and Operations:

  • Budget Management: Participate in capital and operating budget preparation for facilities. Monitor monthly variances and provide analysis.

  • Patient Scheduling: Efficiently schedule patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of physical therapy services, including initial assessments and follow-up visits.

### Leadership and Development:

  • Program Oversight: Develop patient care teams and implement innovative solutions to address challenges.

  • Communication: Relay patient status to referring physicians and healthcare team members.

  • Staffing and Interviews: Address staffing needs, approve time off, and participate in interviews and selection processes.

### Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Assess, treat, and supervise patients across age groups. Adjust treatment plans based on patient response.

  • Education: Serve as a clinical instructor for students and residents.

  • Professional Development: Maintain licensure through continuing education.

### Marketing and Coordination:

  • Business Development: Create marketing plans in collaboration with leadership and participate in community relations activities.

### Leadership Roles:

  • Acting Regional Director: Step in when needed.

  • Human Resources: Manage staff selection, orientation, performance, and employee relations.

  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in a specialty area preferred.

  • Marketing experience and ability preferred.

  • Six months experience with UPMC Rehabilitation Institute preferred.

  • Two or more years supervisory/management experience in a health care setting preferred.

  • Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Direct Access Physical Therapist (DAPT) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, preferred in outpatient settings. Act 34 Criminal Clearance, Act 33 Child Abuse, Clearance Act 73 - FBI, CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Physical Therapist (PT)

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
