The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Director of Football Brand Management & Social Media reporting directly to football. This position is responsible for leading the development, management, and promotion of Pitt Football through social channels; developing and executing the social media plan with a significant focus on follower growth and elevating the Pitt Football overall brand; working in collaboration with Football recruiting graphic design team, Pitt Athletics graphic design unit, Pitt Studios, Strategic Communications, and freelance photographer pool to ensure the integrity of the Pitt Football visual brand; coordinating with Pitt Studios on short-form and long-form video production; assisting with the creative marketing of the Football program; Collaborating with creative services, event management, strategic communications, marketing and video services to illustrate, package and distribute athletics storylines and in-event content on numerous media platforms. Drives the University brand through digital and marketing channels, communication tools, and integrated marketing campaigns. Grows University brand reputation through innovative solutions. Works with licensing to enforce brand guidelines and with vendors to ensure adherence.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the ideation and implementation of the digital strategic vision for Pitt Football; Will oversee two football creative media staff members and will create, gather, edit and produce short form video ideal for social, Work closely with the coaching staff as well as Strategic Communications, Pitt Athletics Social Media, Pitt Studios and Marketing on developing and implementing a comprehensive social media plan; Help lead Football recruiting efforts including a plan to utilize various social media outlets advantageously to the recruiting efforts of the program. This includes managing and promoting head football coach's accounts and overall program brand on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter and other outlets as strategically determined. Strategic mindset with a strong understanding of social media analytics; ability to lead and unite a diverse team of brand champions; skilled communicator who can clearly present ideas, social media plans, and the analytics that drive the content. Coordinating with Pitt Studios and the Football video staff on video production efforts to promote the Pitt Football program as well as the Pitt Athletics brand. The content produced will be used in advertising campaigns (commercials, website, social media, etc.). Must generate new and creative ideas while staying consistent with the Pitt Football brand. Create impactful graphics to enhance the program's recruiting efforts and overall brand development on all platforms. Produce and develop visual and creative materials and content for all recruiting activities, including home recruiting presentations. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Effort

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. May need to lift equipment, mail, or supplies up to 50 pounds.
